Hit-and-run suspect arrested
A 22-year-old DUI hit-and-run suspect was arrested Sunday after a police officer spotted him carrying a car fender near California Street, police said.
**Are you kidding??? You left the whole banged up car behind, but 1 damn fender had to go home!**
Resisting arrest--On Aug. 6 at 4:13 p.m. on W. Campbell Avenue. Officers responded to a report of a male and a female tampering with a vending machine. The 21-year-old female was walking away from the machine and the 49-year-old male suspect hopped the fence, but both were located and taken into custody. The man had a warrant out for his arrest, and the woman was on probation. It was determined they were attempting to pry open the soda machine and steal the money inside. The pair were also associated with a Honda that had been reported stolen.
**So, stealing a car wasn't enough?? A vending machine, really??**
Public intoxication--On Aug. 5 at 1:52 a.m. on S. Bascom Avenue. A 23-year-old man was contacted by police for trying to enter vehicles that were not his. He was determined to be too intoxicated to care for himself and booked into jail.
**Hey, was this guy at McDonald's on Sunday? He was trying to get into cars, that was not his!! And they arrested him because he could not take care of himself? Ahhhh, what about intoxicated in public or about to drive drunk??**
Driving under the influence--On Aug. 10 at 11:33 p.m. on E. Campbell Avenue. Witnesses observed a female driver speeding and weaving in and out of traffic as she traveled eastbound on Campbell Avenue. At one point, she drove her Jeep Cherokee up onto the raised center lane divider, which caused the vehicle to roll over onto its roof. Police arrived and observed the woman crawl out of her vehicle, appearing to be uninjured. She was found to be intoxicated and determined to be driving under the influence. Fire and paramedic workers arrived and confirmed that the driver was not injured.
**This is simply ridiculous, that they even have to say she was intoxicated!!! 1. She DIDN"T get hurt. 2.She was trying to drive on top of the center lane divider. You know the drunk ones, never get hurt! That is why I play dead/lathargic when my "guy" friend wants to drive his '68 camero!**
